Rick Miller
Senior Minister
Rick has served as the senior minister at
Eastview since 1995. Prior to coming to Martinsville, he preached in
Bedford, Indiana for 4 years and served for 15 years in youth
ministries in Russell, Kentucky and Martins Ferry, Ohio.
Rick attained his B.A., B.Th. and M.M. degrees from Kentucky Christian College. He was ordained in
1980 by his home church, Moreland Christian Church, in Canton, Ohio. In
conjunction with his church duties at Eastview, he also serves with
Christian Training Ministries (Greenford, OH), speaking on
leadership training and "Raising Positive Kids." He is passionate
about world missions, having taken trips to seven different
countries and several trips to areas within the U.S. He serves as
board chairman for North India Christian Mission.
Rick and his wife
(and partner in ministry) Pam, have twin sons, Jeremy and Joshua who
graduated from Cincinnati Christian University in May of 2007. Rick
currently serves on the Eastview Missions and Evangelism Teams. He
also teaches classes on Sunday and Wednesday nights. His hobbies are
sports and reading.
Bruce Lucas
Associate Minister
Bruce began his service
at Eastview in November, 2008. He was
raised in Greenwood, IN and attended
Center
Grove High School and Harding
Christian
University. For many years he
had dual
careers, with Eli Lilly &
Co., and as a professional singer and
musician. Along with his wife. Donna, who
loves
leading and teaching ladies'
Bible studies, and sons Matt and Casey, Bruce has been involved with
starting music programs for new churches in the area. He has worked
in youth ministry and is very active with "Extended Hand
Ministries," which serves in several correctional facilities in
Indianapolis and surrounding areas. He is currently assistant
chaplain at the Indianapolis Juvenile Correctional Facility for
girls 12-18 years old.
Bruce was ordained in 2005. He serves at Eastview as associate minister and is the worship leader, choir
director and oversees the audio/visual ministry. Among other
duties, he leads the Fellowship Team, which promotes and provides
opportunities for Christian fellowship. He works with new members
and those wanting to find their place to serve in the church. His
passion is serving God and his hobbies are music and sports.
Norman Ward
Shepherding Minister
Norman was born near Milton, KY in November, 1927, the youngest of nine children. The family was raised on a small farm
during the "depression years" when everyone had to work to survive. He is a veteran of WWII, being one of four brothers who served his country.
Norman graduated from Cincinnati Bible Seminary
in the class of 1953 and began serving as a minister in 1950. He and
his wife, Joanne, devoted their years of service to establish new
congregations and help weak ones. For the last thirty years, they
have been involved with raising money to help the Christians in
Burma (name changed to Myanmar in 1991).
Joanne and Norman were married in 1952. Joanne
is from French Lick, Indiana and has assisted Norman in ministry
work as pianist, organist and teacher, as well as wife. The Wards
have three sons, Chuck, Mike and Steve, all involved in the Lord's
work in some capacity. Norman and Joanne also have four
granddaughters and two great-granddaughters.
The Wards are currently helping with the work at Eastview. They previously ministered here from 1974-1978
when the congregation was meeting at the Martinsville YMCA. During
those four years, the Eastview congregation bought their present
property and constructed the first unit of their building.
Jeremy Miller
Youth Minister
Jeremy has been the youth minister at
Eastview since September 2007. He is a 2007 graduate of Cincinnati Christian University.
Jeremy grew up in a ministry family (his
Dad is a preacher) and was part of Eastview's youth program from middle school on. He has a twin
brother, Joshua.
Jeremy married Emily Rader on July 11, 2009.
He enjoys most sports,
especially soccer. He played soccer from the age of 5 all the way
through college and now serves as assistant coach for the
Martinsville High School girls' team.
Jeremy's heart's desire is to
see as many young people as possible come to know, love and serve
Jesus Christ. Part of his philosophy of ministry is to build lasting
relationships with young people and help them apply God's Word to
their lives. Jeremy's door is always open if you would like to
talk to him.
Johnna Barker
Kountry Kids Preschool Director
Johnna grew up in Morgan County
and graduated from Indiana State
University with a degree in Early
Childhood Education. She began teaching
preschool in 1997 and is currently the
director of Kountry Kids Preschool.
She and her husband, Terry, have been blessed with
two children. She and her family have worshiped
and served at Eastview for several years in numerous capacities. They
enjoy church, sports, animals, laughter and the outdoors.
Pat
Winterrowd
Office Assistant/Bookkeeper
Pat moved to Martinsville in 1970 with her
family and transferred to Eastview in 1985.
She has seven grandchildren and two
great-grandchildren. She enjoys travel,
chocolate, reading, her grandchildren and
her Eastview family.
She retired from Farm
Bureau Insurance in May 2002 and came to work part-time in the office in February,
2003.
She has been active with the Finance
and Mission Ministry teams for several years.
Debbi Owen
Office Manager
Debbi was born in Wheeling, W.Va.,
second eldest in a family of five, and was
raised in Columbus, Indiana. She has a
Bachelor of Science degree in nursing from
Indiana University. She worked as a registered nurse in critical care for ten
years and in long-term care/rehabilitation
center administration for two years.
God then began working on her heart to spend
more time with her family. During her years as
a stay-at-home wife/mother, she spent some of her time doing
volunteer work in the Martinsville community. She has volunteered
as editor/publisher of Heartfelt Notes (Eastview's monthly
women's newsletter) from 1998-2003. Debbi began her ministry serving
in the Eastview office in June 2004.
She lives with her husband, Howard, their
daughter Emily (a student at Purdue University), dog Scooby and
cat Fritz.
