College
Ministry
Purpose:
The purpose of our college ministry is to make disciples of Jesus
Christ who will, above all other priorities, love God and love
people.
Biblical
Foundation: Our
foundation and reference point for ministry comes from the 12th
chapter of Mark’s gospel story: “The most important [commandment],”
answered Jesus, “is this: ‘Hear, O Israel, the Lord our God, the
Lord is one. Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all
your soul and with all your mind and with all your strength.’ The
second is this: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’ There is no
commandment greater than these.”
Vision:
We are seeking to provide opportunities for college students to grow
in their understanding of what it means to live day-to-day as a
disciple of Jesus, what it means to love God, and what it means to
love people. We want to expose them to situations, circumstances and
experiences that teach them, through word and example, how to live
as a disciple of Jesus each and every day.
Programs:
Our college ministry primarily takes place during the summer months
and around major holidays, due to the fact that many of our students
travel long-distances to college. Please feel free to call Jeremy
Miller, youth minister, or email him at
jeremy@eastviewchristianchurch.org
for more information about any of the youth ministry programs.
The Eastview family recently sent all our college
students special "care packages" to encourage them during their
final exam week.
We continue to pray for our
young people as they are preparing for their futures. We ask that
you pray for them as well:
